In these harsh conditions, all heat transfer occurs through radiation and conduction, requiring passive thermal control systems that can perform reliably without adding significant weight or bulk.

Composite Multi-Layer Insulation(CMI) applies performance principles proven in space to terrestrial environments that require vacuum compatibility, extreme temperature resilience, mechanical durability, lightweight construction, moisture resistance, and fire safety compliance. CMI combines multiple reflective and spacer layers in composite configurations to address not only conduction and radiation, but also convection heat transfer present in industrial environments. MPI-S offers enhanced durability as a melamine foam–based insulation with reinforced surfaces, MPI-SP incorporates polyimide films for extended high-temperature thermal insulation, and MPI-L delivers low-particulate insulation blankets for cleanroom applications. MPI-S: Standard Industrial Insulation

 

MPI-S is the standard industrial model developed to overcome the brittleness and performance limitations of conventional melamine foam. Highly cross-linked thermoset resin structure ensures stable insulation performance by minimizing deformation from curing, shrinkage, and expansion in open-cell configurations. Furthermore, through reinforced surface treatment, it achieves higher rigidity, moisture resistance, and long-term stability. This compact layered insulation ensures reliable performance across cryogenic and moderate temperature ranges while meeting UL 94 V-0 flame-retardancy and self-extinguishing standards. As a result, in cryogenic conditions below –100℃, MPI-S exhibits enhanced insulation efficiency compared to conventional polymer foams, maintaining stable performance without hardening or cracking.

MPI-SP: High-Temperature Performance Insulation

 

MPI-SP was developed to extend high-temperature insulation performance by incorporating polyimide film layers with superior thermal stability into the MPI-S matrix. The design also integrates an air-gap insulation layer, which suppresses convection and further enhances thermal resistance, broadening the operating range of MPI-S.  Therefore, this composition provides high thermal resistance and stable operation up to 400℃. Depending on customer performance requirements, the design can be tailored to ensure reliable operation below this maximum temperature limit. With no particulate emission, very low moisture absorption, and minimal performance change over time, MPI-SP provides long-service insulation that ensures user and worker safety.

 

Building on this platform, the MPI-SPR variant integrates reflective films, which further suppress radiative heat transfer and convection, delivering enhanced shielding performance for semiconductor process equipment, exhaust insulation blankets, and heat shields operating under sustained high thermal loads.
